Custom software, integration or a ready-made product?
Start with the constraint in your operation, not with a technology. If a standard product meets the rules and workflows, configuring it can be the right first step. If good systems already exist but data is copied between them, integration may solve the problem without replacing everything.
When custom development makes sense
Specific approval rules, complex permissions, unique service journeys or recurring workarounds can justify custom development. Describe a complete workflow, including exceptions, and compare the cost of maintaining the current process with the cost of building and operating the solution.
What to prepare before requesting a quote
- Who uses the system and what each person needs to do.
- Systems and data sources that must be connected.
- Volumes, deadlines and the cost of failures or manual work.
- A first release that can be validated in real work.
Where AI fits
AI can support document queries, triage and drafting when examples, access rules and quality criteria are defined. Deterministic business rules, calculations and critical permissions still need explicit controls. Start with a narrow task and measure correctness, time and the need for human intervention.
